Donia Alshetairy was born in Yafaa, Yemen, in 1983. She is an artist based in Saudi Arabia, studied IT, and is self-taught in graphic design and multimedia. Her passion for art Inspired her to Pursue a degree in art.

 

Al Shetairy’s artistic approach focuses on the concept of restoring one’s roots, a principle influenced by her studies in information analysis where she uses her abilities in technology and research to debunk the generally accepted understanding of contemporary issues. Through this process, she questions concepts related to human consciousness that is expressed through a range of materials and media along with technology as a foundation.

 

Donia explores deep concepts of connection and communication, allowing the recipient to touch the essence of things and dive into invisible worlds. Inspired by the intensity of ideas in the human mind, Whereas knowledge, imagination, and memory are abstract mental concepts that do not exist. Her works cross a touchable dimension, creating parallel worlds, and a sense of the energies inherent around us and within us. Light is a soft material that she adds delicately to complement the visual narration and create life energy for the artworks.

 

Throughout her artistic career, Donia has exhibited works in Jeddah, Riyadh, and the Sharjah Art Museum in the UAE
